A second season of Entertainment One (eOne)’s animated preschool show PJ Masks has been greenlit and will begin airing in 2018.

The first season of the show is currently rolling out across Disney Junior channels around the world and also airs on France 5.

The series is adapted from French author Romuald Racioppo’s picture-book series Les Pyjamasques and follows the exploits of a group of young friends who transform into superheroes when they put on their pyjamas.

It is produced by eOne and eOne Family MD Oliver Dumont’s kids’ company, Frog Box, in collaboration with Disney Junior and France 5.

Hélène Etzi, senior VP and general manager of Disney Channels EMEA and France, said: “We knew from the first moment we saw Romuald’s books about superheroes in pyjamas that this idea was a natural fit for us.”

eOne, which is also behind preschool hit Peppa Pig, is now readying a consumer product launch for PJ Masks that is expected to reach retail in the US this fall.
